Located in the center of Iowa, Marshalltown is home to national and international business giants like Fisher Controls, Lennox Industries, and Marshalltown Trowel. It also has numerous smaller entreprenurial businesses and industries. Our workforce is made up of hardworking and skilled individuals. Our people are the product of an educational system that is one of Iowa's best. Marshalltown is located on US Highway 30 at its intersection with Iowa Highway 14. Highway 65/330, the diagonal that links Marshalltown to Des Moines will be completed as a four-lane route in 2002.

Marshalltown has a history of volunteerism and civic pride. For example, hundreds turned out to participate in Paint the Bridge (Center Street viaduct), while projects such as the House of Compassion (homeless shelter and soup kitchen) are ongoing. Our neighborhoods are generally centered around elementary schools and parks. Post secondary education is flourishing, both at Marshalltown Community College and at Buena Vista's Marshalltown campus. Marshalltown is a great place to live, to work, to raise children, and to retire. Marshalltown is small town friendly--come see for yourself!
